BRITA INFINITY FIRMWARE UPDATE (Version as of October 18, 2018)

 

Before beginning, please ensure you are using a supported operating system and browser.

Instructions differ for New Users and Existing Users. Please ensure you follow the correct set of instructions.

New User: Those who are setting up a pitcher for the first time. NOTE: You must follow these steps first, before activating your pitcher.

Existing User: Those who previously set up a pitcher and are now refreshing the firmware.

 

New User:

 
  1. Download the firmware file.
On your laptop/desktop (cannot be done on a mobile device), click here to download the new firmware. Save the file (brita-infinity.ota.elf) on your desktop or in your Downloads folder.  
  1. Put your pitcher in update mode.
Press and hold the START button on your pitcher for 30 seconds until the blue light starts blinking. (Please note: The blue light will initially blink after 15 seconds but you must CONTINUE TO HOLD the button for the full 30 seconds until you see the blue light blink a second time. Do not release the button until 30 seconds have passed and you see the blue light for the second time. Immediately release the button after you see the blue light for the second time, otherwise the pitcher will display a red light error.)  
  1. Connect your pitcher to the “BRITA Update” wifi.
In your computer’s wifi settings, a network name called “BRITA Update” should appear. Connect to it (no password needed).  
  1. Update firmware.
  • Navigate to http://192.168.10.1/index_ota.html
  • Click on the “Choose File” button. Navigate to where you saved the brita-infinity.ota.elf file and select it. Then click “START UPGRADE.”
  • When the upgrade is completed, click “Ok” in the box.
 
  1. Reconnect to your home wifi.
Check that your wifi has automatically reconnected to your home wifi. If it did not, manually open your wifi settings and connect to your home network.  
  1. Activate your Pitcher.
Return to https://infinity.brita.com/ and click on the “Activate Your Pitcher” button on the homepage to begin the activation process.  

Existing User:

 
  1. Download the firmware file.
On your laptop/desktop (cannot be done on a mobile device), click here to download the new firmware. Save the file (brita-infinity.ota.elf) on your desktop or in your Downloads folder.  
  1. Put your pitcher in update mode.

  1. Update firmware.

  1. Reconnect to your home wifi.
Check that your wifi has automatically reconnected to your home wifi. If it did not, manually open your wifi settings and connect to your home network.  
  1. Log in to your Brita Infinity account and reconnect your device to the home wifi.
Return to https://infinity.brita.com/ and log in to your account. You should see Your Account page and your pitcher will be listed. Click on the Menu icon in the upper right corner and find the “Activate Pitcher” option. Go through the steps to Re-Activate your pitcher.
